Bernard Lehman

Originally from Montréal, Bernard grew up with classical music as a fan of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, and still finds magic in musical performance of most kinds. His work as an actor and spokesperson has contributed to his skills as an effective communicator. Now a member of radio station CFRH in Penetanguishene, he is one of the morning show hosts as well as the station journalist. Through this important platform, he is helping to promote artistic events in Simcoe County.

He was elected to the board of administrators of Union des artistes (a pan-Canadian performer's union) from 1997 to 2012, and was a member of the board of Théâtre Action (a provincial arts support organization) from 1994 to 1998. In his time as a board administrator, he took part in the decision-making process leading to changes of great importance to the artistic community in Canada.

While freelancing as an actor, producer, and translator for 30 years, followed by fifteen years in a senior translator's role for a major Canadian retailer, Bernard also has gathered experience with helping to execute effective print, audio, and video promotions, and other brand enhancement projects. He has a deep understanding of how culture and psychology play an important but often hidden role in messaging, and how implicit language is discerned by an audience.

Bernard is jazzed to join the Board of Brookside Music Association, and is happy to find a useful purpose for this gathered experience. He is a musician, actor, writer, and canoe tripper. He currently resides in Lafontaine.
